The ʻIlima Lady
The ʻIlima Lady is a documentary following Debbi Barrett, a humble Hawaiian floral designer whose work goes far beyond arranging flowers. She is a steward of native floral traditions that trace back centuries, deeply rooted in a connection to the ʻāina (land).
Directed and produced by Kyeng McGuirk and funded by Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC), the film premiered at the 2023 Hawaiʻi International Film Festival.
